Job Title Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources
Job Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Superintendent, the Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources shall be responsible for all aspects of the management and operation of the Human Resource Department; supervise and evaluate school site principals as assigned; recruit, employ and assign certificated and classified employees; oversee the Peer Assistance and Review (PAR) program; provide coordination and oversight of the District Calendar Committee; recruit, train, support and retain a high-quality, diverse district workforce; develop management training programs; develop and oversee the human resources department budget; provide leadership to develop an innovative and collaborative culture where students and staff can do their best work.

Job Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS a. Required: 1. Possess a Master’s degree in Education Administration, Business, or a related field. 2. Minimum of five (5) years of successful public school administration experience in in a public education setting. 3. Prior successful experience as a school site administrator, preferably in a K-12 public school setting. 4. Participation or training in an education program specific to personnel, including laws and legal requirements related to the hiring of certificated and classified employees. 5. Knowledge of employee relations, personnel practices, labor laws, recruitment strategies, California Education Code, state credential requirements, collective bargaining and contract negotiations. 6. Strong communication and organizational skills. 7. Possess a valid Administrative Services Credential. 8. Valid California Driver’s License. 9. Possess a valid EL Authorization. 10. Must possess or attain certification in the field of Human Resources in an educational setting within one year of job attainment. b. Desirable: 1. Knowledge of California school district fiscal and legal procedures. 2. Possess a Doctorate Degree from an accredited college or university. 3. Bilingual (English/Spanish). 4. Director-level experience. c. Ability to: 1. Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with a variety of groups and individuals. 2. Provides leadership in personnel policy and represents the District’s goals and values.

Compensation Depending on prior experience, annual salary range
