Job Title Human Resources Assistant
Job Responsibilities

Assist with day to day operations of the HR department as follows but not limited to: Be the first point of contact for collection of COVID-19 Health Check Questionnaires; ensuring a questionnaire is received for each employee on-site, verifying the questionnaires were completed fully, each employee’s temperature has been checked and escalate any concerns immediately to HR Management. Update the employee headcount each day to ensure, in case of emergency, there is a full understanding of who is off-site and on-site. Perform daily checks for employee compliance with safety/PPE requirements, including compliance with Coronavirus Protocols.  Log and report any non-conformances. Perform routine temperature checks for employees after initial review each morning. Check the attendance phone line each morning and provide notification to supervisor of employee absences. Accurately track time and attendance by ensuring data is properly recorded and updated as well as ensuring documentation is submitted for each absence, tardy, vacation request, etc. Provide daily and monthly reporting on employee absences, monitoring % of employee’s absence daily, monthly and the reasons for absence. Provide daily notification of absences to Management/Supervision each morning. Assist in support of the timekeeping system by reviewing employee attendance, verifying/tracking reasons for absences in the system, working with supervisor to ensure data is maintained, etc. Support HR Manager with Leave Requests, as needed. Support employee inquiries. Consistently and fairly apply company policies, rules and regulation under direction of the HR Manager.   Communicate relevant information to employees, supervisor and managers, as needed.   Ability to work flexible hours and/or different shifts, if needed.  Ability to work in a safe professional manner adhering to all regulatory requirements including OSHA, EPA, State and Federal Regulations. As the Company’s success relies on the productivity of our team and adherence to customer product schedules, an essential function of this position is the ability to arrive to work on-time, and work each day, as scheduled. Perform other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATION/REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. This position requires access to our export-controlled commodities, technical data, technology and services.  These items are restricted under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) to U.S. Citizens, Lawful Permanent Residents of the U.S. and properly licensed foreign persons.  Therefore, employment is contingent on compliance with ITAR regulations and successfully obtaining and maintaining the necessary export authorization license from the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Bureau of Industry and Security, U.S. Department of State’s Office of Defense Trade Controls, or other applicable government agency.

Job Qualifications

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field preferred. 1 to 3 years’ experience in human resources environment Knowledge of California employment law, particularly wage and hour requirements, preferred.    Effective written and verbal communication skills. Strong attention to detail and good organizations skills. Ability to prioritize and think clearly under time constraints. MS Office proficiency required (Intermediate in Word and Excel) Ability to type an average of 45 wpm or higher Enjoy working with people. Ability to be patient, diplomatic, approachable and stay calm in difficult situations.
